Riverhawks Debut at No. 6 in NJCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Anne Arundel Community College women's cross country has entered the 2021 NJCAA Division III Women's Cross Country National Coaches' rankings at No. 6 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll announced on Wednesday, September 22nd.

After sitting out the 2020 season due to COVID-19, the Riverhawks have competed at two races this fall, claiming the top spot at the Green Terror Challenge (McDanial College) on September 10th, and finishing second at the Blazer Twilight Invitational (Hood College) on September 3.

Freshman Madison Palmer was the top individual finisher at both events. The Riverhawks placed all five runners in the top 10 at the Blazer Twilight Invitational and saw three finish in the top 10 at the Green Terror Challenge.

"You would never know this team came together less than two months ago," said head coach Susan Noble. "They define teamwork both in practice and in competition. I am so proud to watch their progress."

Anne Arundel competes exclusively at four-year college meets this season before heading to the Region 20/Maryland JUCO Championship on October 30. The NJCAA Division III National Championships follow on November 13 at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Georgia.
