COLUMBIA, Md. - The Howard Dragons claimed the 2013 Outdoor Track & Field National Championship on May 11. The Dragons had seven first-place finsihes over the weekend, totaling 172 points.

Jahil Petgrave won a pair of individual National Titles. He won the 200-Meter Dash (21.59) and the 400-Meter Dash (47.30). Edgar Propst took first-place honors in the 800-Meter Dash (1:55.04).

Filagot Dinku (15:55.96) won the 5,000-Meter Run and Darius Bell won the High Jump at 2.10 meters. The Dragons won both the 4x100-Meter Relay (42.20) and 4x400-Meter Relay (3:17.89).

Howard's Jonathan Fourney came in second in the decathalon with 5,321 points. He won two parts of the event (100m & 400m), took second in the shot put and javelin and third in the discus.

Prince George's Uche Oparakau won the 400-Meter Hurdles (55.10) title. The Owls finished 11th with 32 points and Montgomery came in at 17th (14.5).
