PLANO, Texas - The 2013 Harford men's tennis season is
winding down after some quality matches on Thursday at the 2013
NJCAA National Tournament. The Fighting Owls No. 1 doubles team
will play for the backdraw title on Friday morning.
Farai
Chiridza and Tyler
Cook defeated McHenry's Dylan Clark and Matt
Miller in the consolation semifinals 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the
bacjdraw finals where they will face the second-ranked duo from
Tyler CC, Mitchell and James Martell. Chiridza will vie for
his second career NJCAA backdraw title after winning the 2012
backdraw at No. 3 singles.
Soren
Sibbesen reached the semifinals in the
backdraw of No. 6 singles, winning 7-6(3), 3-6, 11-9 on Thursday in
the resumed quarterfinals before falling in the tiebreaker in the
semis to Mesa's Jon Turoczy, 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.
Brandon
Wolf was defeated in the semifinals of the
backdraw at No. 4 singles to No. 3 Luis Hernandez, 6-0,
6-0.
At No. 2 doubles, Vladislav
Sluchenkov and Wolf fell 6-0, 6-1 to ABAC's
Michael Bailey and Dragomir Culjat in the backdraw
quarterfinals.
