FREDERICK, Md.- The Frederick Community College baseball team saw its season come to an end last Saturday afternoon as they fell 14-8 to Lackawanna College in the NJCAA Northeast Division II Championship Game. The Falcons punched their ticket to the NJCAA Baseball World Series in Enid, Okla. with the victory.

The Region XX Division II champions would jump on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning thanks to a double off the bat of Hayden Kissel.

The Falcons would plate 10 runs in the top of the fourth inning. The two big blows in the inning came off the bats of Ryan Cole who connected on a three-run bomb and Thylar Summarell who hit a two-run blast.

Summarell would connect for another long ball in the top of the eighth to secure the victory for the Falcons.

The Cougars (36-15) would not go away quietly. In the bottom of the sixth, Brandon Austin, Kyle Schofield, and Mitch Long each had two-run doubles to cut the lead to 10-7. However, the Falcons would answer with four late runs of their own.

Frederick starting pitcher Brad Foster (9-3) was hit with the loss. Priamo Lozada had a pair of hits and four different Cougars smacked doubles in the loss.

Congratulations to the Cougars' baseball team on a solid season.
