Maryland JUCO Announces Softball, Baseball All Conference Teams

BALTIMORE (May 24, 2019) – The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO) today announced its 2019 softball and baseball All Conference award recipients. A total of 79 selections representing 13 member institutions earned All Maryland JUCO honors.

Softball

Hagerstown Community College leads the way with 11 selections, followed by Anne Arundel Community College with seven. CCBC Catonsville, Frederick Community College and Chesapeake College are next with six each.

Garrett College has two selections, while College of Southern Maryland and Allegany College of Maryland have one apiece.  

Baseball

Harford Community College tops the list in baseball with seven selections; however, are followed closely by Frederick and Garrett, each of whom has six.

Chesapeake is next with four, as CCBC Essex, Hagerstown and CCBC Dundalk each have three. Allegany, Southern Maryland and Montgomery College have two each and Cecil College has one.

The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO) exists to govern and conduct championships for the conference's 16 varsity sports. Chartered in the late 1960s, the conference is composed of 16 Maryland community colleges that compete in a variety of varsity intercollegiate athletics. Maryland JUCO oversees and promotes programs dedicated to academic and athletic goals of its diverse institutions, while enhancing opportunities for balanced intercollegiate athletic programming. The conference provides organizational structure for its membership while strengthening commitments to their students and communities. Each season, Maryland JUCO verifies the eligibility of all its student athletes, schedules, and statistics for statewide competition. To help foster the best academic and athletic experience for student athletes, the Maryland JUCO relies heavily on the work of its sports liaisons, coaches associations and the Maryland JUCO Advisory Council.
