Maryland JUCO Announces Fall All Conference Teams

BALTIMORE (November 9, 2018) – The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO) today announced its 2018 fall season All Conference award recipients. A total of 100 student athletes representing 14 member institutions earned All Maryland JUCO honors.

Men's Soccer
Montgomery College leads the way with seven student athletes, followed close behind by Community College of Baltimore County Essex (CCBC Essex) who has six. CCBC Catonsville, Frederick Community College, Howard Community College and Anne Arundel each have three selections. Hagerstown Community College, Harford Community College, and Chesapeake College each have two, while Prince George's Community College and Cecil College have one apiece.

Women's Soccer
Four schools are tied with the most representatives, as Anne Arundel, CCBC Essex, Harford and Howard represent nearly three quarters of all the women selected with six each. Montgomery and Frederick are next in line with four each, and College of Southern Maryland has two.

Volleyball
Montgomery earned four of the 19 spots, and Cecil and Hagerstown each picked up three as the three schools represent more than half of the selections. CCBC Essex, Frederick and Harford each have two, while Garrett, Southern Maryland and Anne Arundel have one each.

Cross Country
Seven student athletes were selected to each of the men's and women's All Maryland JUCO Cross Country First teams. On the men's side, CCBC Essex and Harford led the way with three each and Hagerstown has one. Harford also dominated the women's team, placing three, as Anne Arundel (2), Southern Maryland (1) and Allegany College of Maryland (1) also have representation.

The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO) exists to govern and conduct championships for the conference's 16 varsity sports. Chartered in the late 1960s, the conference is composed of 16 Maryland community colleges that compete in a variety of varsity intercollegiate athletics.
