BALTIMORE – The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO) today announced that it has selected Micah Till (men's basketball) and Caleema Johnson (women's basketball) as its Student Athletes of the Month for January 2017. 

Till (Harford Community College) averaged 15.1 points per game, 8.4 rebounds per game and three assists per game. In eight games, he also averaged 2.3 blocks and 1.9 steals.

The Upper Marlboro, Md. native had three double-doubles and two 20+ point games, including 29 against then nationally ranked Garret College (January 28). For the season, Till is averaging 15.3 points per game and 1.8 steals, which put him in the top 20 of the conference. His 1.5 blocks per game are third best in Maryland JUCO and he is ranked eighth with 8.3 rebounds per game.

Johnson (Montgomery College) averaged a double-double in January with 22 points per game and 12 rebounds per game. She finished with a double-double in four-of-six games, had three 20+ point performances, and scored a career-high 31 points to go with 17 rebounds against Frederick Community College (January 21).

A graduate of Magruder High School (Rockville, Md.), Johnson ranks fifth in the conference in points per game (21) and is in the top 15 for rebounds per game (9.3) and field goal shooting percentage (46.2%).
